Genesis 28:10-22

In Genesis 28, we encounter Jacob at his most vulnerable moment - fleeing from his brother's wrath with nothing but a stone for a pillow. Yet in this barren place, God reveals something extraordinary: a staircase connecting earth to heaven, with angels ascending and descending upon it. This isn't just an ancient dream; it's a profound revelation about God's desire for intimacy with us. The staircase represents Jesus Christ himself, the bridge between humanity and divinity. Just as Jacob discovered God's presence in an unexpected place, we're reminded that heaven isn't distant - it's as close as our willingness to take that first step of faith. The message challenges us to examine our own spiritual journey: Are we climbing that staircase step by step, growing closer to God? Or are we standing at the bottom, hesitant to begin? The beauty is that we don't need to bring anything with us - no wealth, no perfection, no impressive credentials. We simply need to place our foot on that first step, surrendering to Christ, and begin the upward journey surrounded by God's protective angels and guided by His loving hand toward that eternal city.
