In the Storm, He Remains in Control

What do we do when the storm hits and it feels like no one notices? In Mark chapter 4, we find ourselves in a boat on a raging sea alongside the disciples, watching waves crash over the sides while Jesus sleeps peacefully in the stern. It is a scene that feels uncomfortably familiar. We have all been there in our own way, crying out, 'Does anyone care what I am going through?' This message takes that raw, honest question and walks us through one of the most powerful storm narratives in all of Scripture. The central truth that emerges is both simple and profound: in the storm, he remains in control. We explore how storms arrive without warning, fall on the faithful and the faithless alike, and yet serve a purpose far greater than the pain they bring. Drawing on the lives of David, Mary and Martha, and the unforgettable story of Horatio Spafford, who penned 'It Is Well With My Soul' while sailing past the very waters where his four daughters drowned, we are reminded that some of the deepest faith ever expressed in human history was forged in the middle of unimaginable loss. This is not a message that promises smooth sailing. It is a message that promises we are never sailing alone.
